As everyone knows, there is no money in blogs. However, there is at least some money in books about blogs, or books by bloggers, or books by ... people who ... make books ... put words on page ... what are they called? ... that also have blogs. The magic ingredients are book and blog, which yields money. I want a big advance for a book deal. Or do I? I've decided that I do, yes. It does appear that there's still money on the table. But where is this table? And which is more attractive, a hot young blogger with a book, or a reliable but boring book-make-person who has a blog? Does the distinction matter in terms of the blog-book market frenzy?
Regardless, I have decided that I have a blog -- this one, among others -- so let's just get the ball rolling. However, I have no book, and I don't want to write a book without having a deal (and an advance). But to reiterate and paraphrase a Zen koan: first there is a blog. Then there is no blog. Then there is. Obviously, a new level of incestuous blog-book interpolation must be conceived and achieved. Therefore, welcome to the Blog Book Project Blog Book Blog (BBPBBB).
As part (in fact the entirety) of the BBPBBB, this blog will function as an attempt to secure a book deal. The proposal for the book is the process of securing a book deal through this blog. The subject of the book will be this blog, which will of necessity cause the book (and book deal) to manifest from the aether. For if there is no book deal, how can this blog possibly exist? Plus, it's got an obvious beginning, middle, and end. I can add car chases and sex scenes to taste.
Interested publishers may contact me and advance the plot (or plot my advance) of the BBPBBB by email at chrismohney@gmail.com. Progress, if any, will be chronicled here.
